2. What Cookies and Similar Technologies Are

A cookie is a small text file placed on your device by a website you visit. Cookies are widely used to make websites work, or work more efficiently, and to provide information to the site owner. “Similar technologies” include browser storage mechanisms such as localStorage, which work like cookies but store data inside your browser rather than sending it to a server with each request.

First-party cookies are set by the website you are visiting (isov8.co.uk). Third-party cookies are set by another domain. In some cases a third party’s script (for example, Google Analytics) sets a cookie on the first-party domain you are visiting; we describe these clearly below.

UK PECR rules on storing or accessing information on a user’s device apply equally to cookies and to similar technologies such as localStorage. We treat both under the same consent regime: the only browser storage written without your consent is the strictly necessary entry that records your cookie choice. All other categories require your consent before any data is stored or read on your device.

3. Cookies We Use

3.1 Strictly Necessary

These are required for the site to function. They cannot be disabled and do not require your consent under PECR.

3.2 Analytics (Consent Required)

We use Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID G-YQHKG2BQ0K) to understand which pages are useful and where visitors come from. Google Analytics is loaded under Google Consent Mode v2: by default analytics_storage is denied, and the cookies below are only written to your device after you grant consent through our banner.

Before consent is granted, Google Analytics operates in a limited, cookieless mode that does not store analytics cookies on your device or use a unique identifier to track you. Google Analytics 4 also processes IP addresses without storing them, and IP anonymisation is enabled within Google Analytics where applicable.

Google processes the resulting data outside the UK. Where personal data is transferred outside the UK, we rely on appropriate safeguards recognised under UK data protection law, such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement, the UK Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses, or adequacy regulations where applicable. 4. Cookies We Do Not Use

We do not use advertising, marketing, or social-media tracking cookies. We do not load pixels or tags from Meta, LinkedIn, X (Twitter), TikTok, Hotjar, Intercom, or any similar service. Our Content Security Policy is configured to block such third-party scripts at the browser level.

The specific cookies and technologies used may change over time as we update or improve the website and the services it relies on. Where this happens, this Cookie Policy will be updated and, for any change that affects your consent choices, you will be asked again through the cookie banner.

5. Managing Your Cookie Preferences

When you first visit isov8.co.uk we display a cookie banner allowing you to accept all cookies, reject all non-essential cookies, or choose individual categories under Manage preferences. Your choice is recorded in the isov8_consent_v1 entry described above and is honoured for 12 months, after which we will ask again.

You can change your preferences at any time by clicking Cookie Settings in the site footer. You can also clear or block cookies through your browser’s settings — the help pages for Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge explain how. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may prevent parts of the site from working as intended.

To opt out of Google Analytics across all websites, you can install Google’s browser opt-out add-on.

Rejecting non-essential cookies does not reduce access to the website’s core functionality. You can browse the full site, contact us, and use every feature whether or not you accept analytics cookies — we only lose the ability to measure how the site is being used.

Our cookie banner is designed to support a fair, informed choice. Accept All and Reject All are presented with equal prominence; no analytics toggle is pre-ticked; Google Analytics is blocked from setting cookies until consent is granted; you can give granular consent by category through Manage preferences; and you can withdraw or change your consent at any time using the Cookie Settings link in the footer. We do not use confirm-shaming, hidden controls, or other dark patterns to influence your choice.

6. Your Rights and Consent Records

Where cookies and similar technologies process personal data, you have rights under UK GDPR including the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, objection, and the right to withdraw consent at any time. These rights and how to exercise them are described in our Privacy Policy. Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of any processing carried out before the withdrawal.

We keep a record of your cookie consent choice in the isov8_consent_v1 entry stored in your browser. The record contains the categories you accepted or rejected, the time the choice was made, and a version number for the consent schema. We use this record to honour your choice on future visits and to demonstrate, if asked, that we obtained valid consent before any non-essential technology was used.

The “Published” date at the foot of this page indicates when it was most recently revised. Material changes that affect your consent will be brought to your attention through the cookie banner.
